Family History Writing Workshop-Writing an Everyday Life World

Presenter: Dr. Cynthia Kiefer

When: December 7, 2018, 1:00am-3:00pm

Where: Desert Foothills Library, 38443 N. Schoolhouse Road, Cave Creek, Arizona

In this workshop, you will learn how to select and integrate details evoking the historical and social settings in which their ancestors lived. Accurately depicting the “everyday life worlds” of your ancestors and family members will help your readers engage with your ancestors as real people living in a specific time and place.

Through the research and writing strategies presented in this workshop, you will learn how to weave together researched and family document details to create a believable and humanizing life world around your ancestors. Feel free to bring your notebooks, tablets, or laptops to the session as well as any family history research and writing projects you have in progress.
